So I got a active sub the other day and wired it up (Rx8's happen to be the easiest car I've done so far :D) turned the sub on put the cars interior back together and was happy. But the nxt morning I got in turned up the volume and it sounded like the sub was barely doing anything compared to the (amazing) stock Bose system.
Anyway today I noticed lol just sitting there in my boot is the fuse that goes inline with the power cable. Somehow it completely slipped my mind, so I put it in and now the sub is kicking a lot harder than before. I even had to re tune the amp!

Is it possible that there was a restriction in the amp because no fuse was detected? I've never heard of this before and I can't get my head round it, usually no fuse=Fire etc etc.
I'm sure I'm not imagining it either the sub kicks wayyy harder now. It's only a Fli active 10" trap...

 

No fuse = no power to the amp. Depending on how you hooked it up, it could have been getting a little signal from the Bose amp, but your added amp would be adding nothing.

If you mean that you had no fuse slot installed in the power line( so you had power, but no protection) then likely there was a poor connection that was corrected after installing the fuse and reattaching the power.

Thanks for your response I think it's possible there was a poor connection. I got a new sub now more powerful one. Vibe Blackair 2 Cbr 10" evo.. Awesome bass! I definitely recommend

 

Hey guys, I got a problem. I had a 15" kenwood bass tube with kicker amp installed a while ago. I was still using the stock radio and the guy that hooked it up spliced the signal from my rear left speaker and ran it to the tube. So I recently got a double din touch screen kenwood head unit put in and the tube doesn't work when its playing something from a bluetooth source, but it does when the radio is playing. Could this be a wiring issue? If so is the a way to wire the tube directly to the head unit? Any helo would be greatly appreciated!

 

Run composite cables from the sub output on the head unit all the way to the tube.
