Exhaust cutout switch help!!! (Not on an RX-8)
Exhaust cutout switch help!!! (Not on an RX-8)
So I bought a cat-less midpipe with an electronic cutout in it, but it didn't come with a switch. I am not an expert in automotive wiring, but from my understanding it will require a reverse polarity switch. This of course means nothing to me. I need some help and guidance!
Watch this:
Now spend some time thinking about if you really want that under the car, where there is stuff to burn. Stuff like fuel lines...

Haha well I have a boosted BMW now so that won't be as much of a problem. I would never do that with a rotary, I had plenty of flames with my catless exhaust. I just posted on here because there is much more knowledge with electronics on here than with a bimmer forum.
I don't think you understood my point. Exhaust cutouts on an RX-8 are a really bad idea, which is why there isn't really any information here on how to do it.
You question seems to be basic electrical though, and not specific to any vehicle.
There aren't many Speed3 owners on the RX-8 forum. Try the Speed3 forum.

Jesus, not a noob...read that ****. I have a different car now. It is not an RX8 that is getting the cutout. And there are alot of speed3 and speed6 guys that upgrade to an rx on here, sold alot of my mods to them when I parted out.
In which case, I'm moving this to general automotive and renaming. You actually never stated that this was for a non-RX-8, just that you have another car, and being as that it is on an RX-8 forum and was created in a subforum for Series 1 RX-8 modifications ... a misunderstanding became inevitable.
Perhaps you will get more assistance from a more appropriate forum.
