Compression test prior to purchase, last thing you want to do is buy an RX8 with a bad engine that is no longer under warranty. After that, make sure your ignition is good(plugs, coils, wires). When I got mine I got them to just replace all of the fluids as well for the sake of it.

Wow. To both second car and having an RX-8 at 17. Congrats, good luck, and be careful. Also I hope you have a good job @ 17 so you will be able to pay for maintenance/repairs.
My first was a '72 Mustang Boss that my uncle has had since he was my age. He passed it down to me, but that b**** ate gas! I turned a lot of heads at my school, but I need something a little more "economical" so I won't be spending a lot on gas. So I did a lot of research, and the RX-8 was my favorite one that was in my budget.
The care was passed down to me so, NO, I'm not spoiled. I'm paying for my car with money I earned over the past 2 years

Welcome Miguel,
During your research, did you find out that 8s get from 16-20 mpg and you have to use premium for every fillup?
I love my 8, but "economical" is not a word I would use to describe it.
She's a thirsty beast.
Good luck.
