A few questions from a new member.

Hello , everyone. I was wondering if the dealership was joking when they mentioned that i need to push the engine to 4-5000 RPM before shutting down the engine after use. Is this really true or are they playing some joke on me so my neighbors want to kill me ..lol. Honesty would be appreciated, thanks and God bless !! Loving my 09 RX8 touring edition with Ingen short ram air intake and soon to come Borla custom cat back pipes. Happy to be here in the forum, i appreciate a good forum .

Quick answer is no, you don't have to do that. Besides the new owner's thread, read the Quick Tips guide, which explains the one circumstance where you do rev before shutting down. If you don't have the QT guide and/or the owner's manual, you can download pdfs from mazdausa.com.

What kind of dealership did you buy it from?

New Owner's thread answers this specific question. I recommend reading it. Post #7 is the post with the answer, though since you missed that on your first read through, perhaps you missed other points? Re-reading the whole thread may be beneficial.

Thanks ! I sound like an idiot with a high IQ it is shameful but i love the car, It's a adventure everytime i get in it lol. I bought the car from a Mazda Dealership (Neslon Mazda ) . The car is great , a few more adjustments and it will be really screaming . I'm expecting a Borla Exhaust within the next 2 weeks. Ill read the " New owners thread " and probably crack up at worrying about reving the engine lol. Still yet the car is so much fun , loving owning it .
