Coolant
Hi chaps,
Done a 1000m now since got last month, coolant light always comes on, usually goes off if I free wheel a bit or keep the revs below 4k or cruise at around 60. Temperature/oil fine, power/acceleration seems fine. There seemed to be too much in there so got local garage to suck a bit out, but think he may have taken a little too much.
Have got some Comma Super Coldmaster Antifreeze and Coolant concentrate - what proportions should I dilute it and can I put too much in ??
Also, no manual - anyone know where to get one please - its a 231 December 2007.

Three stickies in this subforum have a link to where to get the owner's manuals. That suggests that you haven't read any of them yet.
Coolant level is probably a bit low since it turns on at higher revs, and off at lower revs. Just add some in. 30% coolant 70% water is typically the lowest coolant ratio you should go, 50/50 is the highest. Mazda's oem FL-22 is highly recommended.
Yes, you can put too much in, in which case it will spit out the overflow tube once the car is hot. If you haven't re-routed the overflow tube, then this overflow will dump onto your fans and the power steering connector (thanks Mazda!), which can then cause other problems.

Cheers will add a little coolant at 30/70. It does bubble up and go down the little pipe at the top, but I know nothing about the workings of an engine, so will take into the garage and see if they can check if it has been re-routed or not. I know previously people have said this light coming on/off is a common thing, just paranoid about the thing blowing up like my last one did.
Have searched on the coolant but not the manual so will take your advice - many thanks.

If there is bubbles in the coolant, you could have more major issues. At a minimum, it needs to be properly bled. If you still have bubbles, then something is wrong somewhere in your coolant system. If that is the case, have the coolant tested for the presence of combustion gasses. If that comes back positive, you have a failing or failed coolant seal. If not, then you may want to start replacing everything.
