Hi Everyone, I have a 2004 model RX8 with replaced new engine this March.
I had changed my water cooler from original to large size and added one AT Cooler.

And I also buy an engine oil cooler (£Ð£Á£Ò£Ô£Ó¡¡£Ì£É£Ó£Ô) and I want to add it to my car.

But my friend told me don't do that. Because that will cause engine oil pressure get down.. That will damage my engine.

So, My question is.. Does any one has 2004 model and add one engine oil cooler? Could someone can tell me the oil pressure changes? (Before adding cooler and after)

I need some real number about them. (Kg/CM2)

Your friend is wrong. Your model only came with one oil cooler, adding a second will not affect your oil pressure. Many people have done this.

Yes, I know my car has original one engine oil cooler. He told me the reason why this action will damage my engine is because the original oil pump just support one oil cooler. So If I add another, That will not enough power to push them..

you're fine adding a 2nd oil cooler, there won't be any problems.

 

The RX-8 oil pump is a positive displacement pump, the added cooler will not affect it at all.

And .. How do you know that is a positive displacement pump ?

Just do a google search and it explains what is a Positive displacement pump.

and adding 2nd cooler will NOT have any negative effects, it aids in cooling the engine.

Hi Everyone, I just add one engine oil cooler. It looks so big .. (Greddy second hand cooler)
And I use 10W-40 engine oil .
Because I don't have any oil pressure meter to know the real psi number.

m....Is that really fine ? Just a little worried about it.
