Very, very disappointed.

Alright so I was up tonight just browsing wheels when I stumbled across these wheels:
http://www.mrrwheels.com/gt7.html
I am now in love but the problem is they don't have a 5x114.3 bolt pattern. Has anyone seen rims similar to these!?!? Or do you think i could call to get custom bolt patterns made? I think this is certainly my mission this summer is to get these rims. I just don't know exactly where to go from here. Any advice would be great!

theres a big difference between the gt7's and the xxr's (concave+multipiece) and the gt7's are double the price and have a lip! although not a big enough one

never seen anythng like those offered elsewhere but if you must have them research wheel adapters

if im not mistaken 5x120 is a bmw pattern so the hub sizes probably wont match up either

wheel adapter can be very dangerous please do all your research+ wheel adapters are about 1.5-2 inches thick take that into consideration when calculating your offset. id post in the will it fit thread and see what the wheel gurus think

Wheel adapters are nothing more than bolt on spacers and are completely safe and have been used in racing for many years. Please do not spew BS.

OP, just buy rims in the right bolt pattern, hub bore (you have not even considered), offset, and width. Buying new wheels and then buying adapters is retarded. It only makes sense if you are getting wheels at a decent price.

You said wheel adapters can be dangerous. Do you have any personal knowledge of wheel adapters being dangerous? I hear people make such statements about spacers and wheel adapters all the time yet not once have I ever seen or heard of a bolt on wheel spacer or adapter failing.

The only cases you will see or hear about are when they were used improperly and even then you would be hard pressed to find those cases.

yes i have personally seen a wheel go flying off a 1989 honda accord at 50 mph because the guy (greg) got some cheap *** adapter where the studs snapped off

telling someone to be carefull is not bs just because YOU have never seen an adapter fail

do your research get quality adapters if you go that route. they CAN be dangerous

I don't believe it.

The only way that could happen is if the wrong lugs were used and they were installed improperly. And even then the odds of all the studs shearing off at once, are one in a million.

Like I said, they have been used for decades in racing and I have never heard or seen of that happening.

That doesn't make the adapter dangerous because some idiot can't use the right lugs or install them correctly. Normal wheels come off from improper installation every day and we don't blame the wheels. Human error is a much larger potential for danger.

im not saying theyre ALL prone to failing. but lets not assume the op is a pro wheel installer. wrong lugs, not fitted properly poor quality product, all potentially dangerous mistakes.

so wouldnt you agree he should research proper fitment, lugs, and quality brands, before hopping on ebay and gettin $40 dollar adapters and a set of lugs from autozone?

I actually found them. They are around from 110-140. About 1.25 inch thick. And no, I am not a rim expert, just never seen rims like these and desperately want them by the end of summer. And can someone please help with the hub bore? What what exactly would that make a difference for? They do not just calculate that in the offset? I think I have an idea on what it is but I want to be sure.

And not trying to sound like a smart *** but i rebuild my car from the windshield forward. I mean, welded on a mew front clip, new subframe suspension body work, and left rear suspension. The only mechanical thing I didn't mess with was the engine. I just dropped that for the rebuild. So, yes, I will make sure these spacers are used properly.

It's stupid to buy new rims at $300.00+ a piece and then buy and use wheel adapters. You have a lot to learn about proper wheel fitment and I am not going to spoon feed you.

bro in all honesty if the adapters are 1.25 inches thick and the wheels have a low offset theye guna stick out past your fenders

those wheels need a pro to make em fit and even a pro would have a tough time

Crap. Well nevermind then I been trying to look up stuff during school though and the hub bore was like 72mm or something. And from what I have gathered so far that with the wheel adapters your right. No way would they fit. My apologies for wasting anyones time on this. And that is why I posted this, since I figured it would gauge interest during my day in school.
