DE Fuel Door that never existed? center open

I have been looking for this fuel door for some time- thought I'd ask for the group's help. It appears to a fully functional "center open" unit.

I finally found the manufacturer- their website shows the design for this fuel door under it's oem programs & partnerships under the mazda tab.
OEM PROGRAMS AND PARTNERSHIPS | AMP Research®

I emailed them and they responded promptly letting me know they never produced it, and there was no demand to produce it.

Another dealer site listed the part as such- discontinued
Mazda part#
Fuel Filler Door - K0 - RX-8
Mazda RX-8 (2004-2008)

If anyone knows where to grab one of these, please post. I asked amp how many they would need ordered for a production run- but no answer so far. If anyone else wants one- please contact these guys and express interest! Maybe we can get a build run. If anyone actually has this cover please post a pic of the center open to get a better look at the design. Thanks all.

Thanks, I have. I look for European rx-8 parts fairly often. I've never seen this there. It's worth noting that amp is a US based company in Tustin, CA.

I have one on my other car (Mazda 6i). When i bought the Mazda 6i, its already in there, it looks good on a blue color car, but i was thinking of getting one for my rx8 too, but i don't think it will look good...i'm still thinking about it though...

many S1 aftermarket parts from Mazda have been discontinued, including this one

there may be a new or used one laying around somewhere, but it's not likely to fall into your lap since you don't seem to know how to search for it

List Price: $108.00
MazdaGear Price: This item is no longer available from Mazda!!
This item is no longer availabel from Mazda!!

That one? That's where I got the part number from. Which is actually Mazda Manufacturer Part #: 0000-8R-K0X . Thanks. Good use of Google.

Maybe you missed the part where I found and contacted the manufacturer. Just knowing it was a Euro part is gaining ground.

Seeing as how the forum is for communicating and sharing info, seemed like the right place to post the inquiry. Thought I'd drop that on your lap, since you don't seem to know what a forum is for.

Thanks, do you happen to know if it was true alloy or plastic like the mx-5 and 6 series covers?

Some appear to be plastic- like the 3 series unit pictured here. At least it looks like plastic to me.
