Increase torque?

Is there a cost efficient way to increase torque on the automatic 2004 model. Pretty sure its the standard trim I pick it up tomorrow. I'm trying to bump it up by spending less than a grand and it would be nice if it makes it sound scarier too.

I saw the ecu chip upgrade is a decent upgrade. I'm checking out some on eBay but I'm not sure which one is the best for the low end torque, have you had any experience with using one.

Seriously, before going any further, or making any more posts, read as 9k stated the link for new owners. You will find all the answers you seek and so much more.

There isn't a "CHIP" that will increase Torque & HP. Read the link everyone has referenced. These people are trying to help. You will learn quite a bit about your car.
