Hey guys, I'm in the market for an RX-8 but I don't know all the differences in trims. I've been through the information of small changes but here's what I'm looking for.

I want as much performance as I can in stock form as I will be making minor adjustments only such as RB Race Cat back, the RevI intake, and probably radiator w/screens. Maybe an OCC but that's about it.

I'm a Bass head hardcore, so I'll be looking for an alternator and batteries but I can find that myself. My question is:

Which trim/years should I be looking to? I don't need anything inside pretty much. Stereo will be replaced, so Navi/Bose/whatever is unnecessary, only thing that matters is 6 speed.

If you want the most performance then go with the base/sport model because it weighs the least of all the trims.
