GA MX5ATL Presents: Track day at Atlanta Motorsports Park "Cinco de Mayo Border Run"

Ok this is REALLY happening. I got a tour of the track Saturday and what a blast this will be. Imagine Dealsgap/BloodMountain and Imagine getting to use both sides of the road... and Imagine the road wider...

F1 Lights on the turns..etc etc..... This is going to be epic.

Only sign up if you can DEFINITELY go please.

Once I get 40 People you will have to send a check for $250 to James Marcellana 843 Mountain View Terrace Marietta GA 30064

You will get an email when that happens.

You don't have to send a payment until I say so unless you want to mail a check now but it will not be cashed until we have 40 drivers.

You can also paypal $265 to James@itbizneeds.com or Charge on a credit card. Try to paypal as a gift please

Once you send your check and we sign the contract, there is NO REFUND. You are always welcome to sell your spot.

This event happens rain or shine. If you have a convertible, you must have a roll bar or a pop up bar like on the BMW. You may not run slicks or R-compounds unless you have a Hardtop.

There will be 2 run Groups and you will get about 3 hours of Track Time, Im just saying.

Please be honest with your Track experience, I will get Instructors available for you.

Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) is a road course designed by famed Formula One architects, Hermann Tilke. AMP is a 2-mile road course with elevation (100ft+!) changes, technical course layout, high speed straights and two ‘signature’ corners designed to pay homage to famed European race courses; Belgium’s Spa-Francochamps and the iconic ‘Carousel’ from Germany’s Nurburgring. Incorporating these most famous and exciting of all of motorsports only hints at the lengths.

Do you need instructors? Any discount for instructors? Absolutely interested...I would really like to add AMP to my resume...and a one day event would be perfect.

Do you mind if I add this event to our GA RX-8 Club Forum driving section?

AFAIK we will absolutely need quite a few instructors as majority that plan on running (like myself) this will be their first time, and the course does require instructors on initial runs, so yes, you're more than welcome to join!

I will talk to the man in charge about a discount on instructors if that's possible.

And yes, add this anywhere else! Let everyone know! The only thing is we're trying to keep this Mazda specific, so just keep that in mind.

For everyone else if you can are seriously interested, please sign up!

Rats--I wanted to do this but it is in conflict with a Roebling Road event the same w/e.

I will give a free bump to others and also tell them that between sessions ( if you dont already have enough track time lol) they have a really really good go kart track and decent karts.
It is a family type area so bring the wife kids etc.

Bump!

We're stuck at 25 people, so PLEASE! If you want to do this, sign up!
If we get up to 45 people that would certainly help as the event will be catered!

I am unsure how the instructor situation will be handled, but I assume if you have a preference for someone, you would get that person, and those that have no preference will be given whoever is left.

When I was there for the Audi club event last year, they were measuring from less than that...they checked each car at pitout and might have been 25' away @3000rpm...but no where near 50'.

I thought it was 95dB @ 50' at peak RPM... but if it's only 3k I should be good, because my car is absolutely quite loud lol!

I will request clarification on this because it's been seriously worrying me.

I just know what I saw the AUDI guys testing when I was shooting their event in October. They had the pit out person checking, he had the sound testing equipment and he stood 25-30 feet from the car, told them to rev it up to 3-4k and hold...if they were good they went out...they also called cars in over the radio that were loud on track...there were a couple that did not return, they were just too loud, despite passing the pit out test. AMP has to take it very seriously. They made deals with the locals on noise...and they bring up a good point in the morning meeting...a lot of tracks in the US are more strict...Laguna is 93db, except for like 7 weekends a year around big pro races.

Oh yeah, no I definitely don't mind them for having strict rules as they are there for a very good reason.

I just need to figure something out beforehand because I'm pretty darn sure I'm over their limit
