low rpm noise

When taking off from a stop from 1000-4000 rpm i can hear what seems to be a rattling sound. It sounds similar to the MIAC at high rpms but more defined and from the rotor housing. I was thinking it could be the plugs, i pulled them and they look fairly new, and I have only put 5k on the car since they were replaced when i bought it. Car has 58k on it.

Does the car have to be in gear to make the noise?

No it isnt as strong as when it takes off. Clutch in or out it is less pronounced. When you put a load on it, that is what makes it really prevelent.

I have a 2004 which just turned 100000 miles. Mine also does this but I always just assumed that it was just under more load. There isn't any noise when the clutch is depressed. When the clutch is engaged out of gear it is a soft whine. On take offs it's a rattle. Are these similar to your experiences?
