How do you check the timing on a 2004 Mazda RX-8?

 

i would use a timing light. the timing isn't adjustable on this car, so you should put the timing light on each wire, and make sure all four are working

 

The only way to adjust timing is through ecu tuning. See the Engine Tuning Forum for more information. Be prepared to do lots of reading before you start asking questions.
