Any click on an embedded external link leads me here, upon which, nothing happens.

yup ... blame that on the awesome viglink script that is embedded on every page:

<!-- VigLink vBulletin Plugin v2.0.3: Affiliate Every Link on the Web with VigLink -->
<script type="text/javascript">
var vglnk = { api_url: '//api.viglink.com/api',
key: 'b7a2f970a165b13fa130d6a1c92d5f32' };

(function(d, t) {
var s = d.createElement(t); s.type = 'text/javascript'; s.async = true;
s.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? vglnk.api_url :
'//cdn.viglink.com/api') + '/vglnk.js';
var r = d.getElementsByTagName(t)[0]; r.parentNode.insertBefore(s, r);
}(document, 'script'));
</script>
<!-- end VigLink -->

I have to right click on the YouTube displays, save the link url, open a new tab and paste the link in that in order to see the vid.

^ Thanks for the tip, Al. It works, but too bad the kludge is needed now.
