2004 door will not shut

2004 door will not shut

i don't know what happen but now my driver side door will not shut. nothing is wrong with it, but now i need to know what to do

Check the latch on the door itself. Kind of hard to explain, but sometimes the mechanism does not open up like it's supposed to when the door is opened. When you try to close it, the mechanism does not catch the latch, it only bumps it. As a result door does not stay closed. Bad explanation, but that's all I got. You can pry it back with a screw driver, lube it with some penetrating oil and it should be fine for a while. You may have to have it replaced at some point. That is of course if that is the problem?

yea it seems like it, cause the outside door handle doesnt "open" all the way. when i pry it back, am i going toward the exterior or toward the interior if that makes sense
