ok..i loaned my 8 to my x to take my kids to the doctors. long story short she crashed it into the hair salon she goes to. minimal dammage to front bumber cover. it ran really rough when i got it back. i drove it home and the floor got really hot till it ran out of gas since she left me with zero gasoline. i put gas in it and it once again barely started. so i orderd plugs and wires and it still will only start after 20 min or so of cranking over. could this be a fule pump problem? she says it was stalling before she crashed it. it dose throw lean bank codes. i can hear pump whining just as it always has..it is not a flooding issue as i have delt with that allready and have no problem fixing that. any suggestions PLEASE HELP!!

 

i can get it started but i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it running and it is slow to accelerate and shakes.....help!!!

 

She likely crushed the exhaust or cat or both on the way into the spa...

 

cats and exaust are fine ...maybe a fuel pump issue?

 

Get a compression test...
Plugs and wires are good, but look into the ignition coils also. When was the last time they were changed?

 

my is doing the same but i find this and no one ever said that you did or did not fix it i need help i have put in BHR full kit i am now going to get a new pump but who knows if that will work

 

My RX8 is doing the exact same thing! It's got new plugs, wires, starter and battery. I can barely get it started with some help from the gas peddle but as soon as I let it get down to idle it seems like it runs out of gas. That's why I'm thinking it's the fuel pump.
