Desert Tires?

before you say it yes i have used the search button and even clicked thru lots of forums. But nothing has been about the desert. I live in the desert of Socal, with regular drives to utah. I know tires are more of a personnel pref. but i want your opinions. It is regularly over 110 here in the summer, and it never goes below 55 EVER! even in the winter highs are 75-80 and lows are 60-65. I am looking for a tire that does well in the heat. Also it hardly ever rains but two times a year if we are lucky so water performance isn't high on my list. I have some random nittos on it now sense i got them cheap. I was trying to stay around a 300-420 AA A if possible anyone have any recommends? or actual experience with tires that would be good?

Edit: the reason i am trying to stay away from super soft tires is i drive 22 miles to work one way and about 3k a month so i drive A LOT!!! so anyone know a hard tire that handles? im not so worried bout it having a hard sidewall and rough ride.

I still use the oem tires, they work just fine on weather here in Vegas. Anyway, you could check out the TireRack.com and you could read some customers reviews as well, good luck with your search.

I run Falken Fk-452 and I'm happy with those, I live in L.A. granted it aint as hot out there. You may consider Nitto NT555 as well or Hankook V12 Evo

My R3 is on these and it has held up to about 16K miles of pure Arizona driving. I still have deep treads on them.

FYI, The "A" and "AA" traction ratings are based on stopping and cornering grip tested on wet pavement.

I recommend Michelin. They typically have the longest tread life in dry conditions. Either the Pilot PS2 or The Pilot Super Sport. The PS2 will get you more dry condition mileage. But the Super Sport has better dry condition traction

I was thinking ether Sumitomo HTR Z III or the Yokohama S drive. I have had a cpl sets of different nittos. And I personally don't think they are sticky enough or last long enough for that price. 200+. A piece twice a year is far too much.

Yokohama s drive, sumitomos are crap IMO they have weaker sidewalls compared to their cousins (Falken)
