my alarm seems to go off every 15 minutes after locking the car, it will stop doing it if i leave the boot open but still leave the car locked. any ideas what this could be? its driving me mad, is there some sort of sensor in the boot of the car that could be playing up? the car is a 2004 231ps with 40k miles if it makes any difference.

 

Is the shock sensor installed?

 

Mine used to do that. My alarm would go off about every 15 mins like you and would never turn off unless I did. It only happens when I push the button twice and hear the horn beep.

I took it to the dealer and they fixed it. There was a short somewhere and it needed rewiring.

 

Update guys, it miraculously stopped doing it after going for a 50 mile drive? it still puzzles me.. when i went to start the car up the battery was also flat so i had to bump start it. could the flat battery and the alarm going crazy be related?

I have no idea whether the shock sensor is installed, i presume id need to ask a dealership about that.

@ Charles, No i haven't tried replacing the battery, although after much searching i did find out it could be the key playing up so when my parents went out i got them to take a key (mine & spare) and the alarm was still going off.
