coolant light

Hey guys. I'm sure somebody had this before but I'm on my phone and searching is problematic and annoying on mobile site at best so sorry in advance.

My coolant level light comes on sometimes. It only lasts a few seconds. No CEL, temp geauge is fine, coolant level is fine. Maybe a sensor going bad? It first happened when I was pushing the car hard but the second time was during normal city driving. Straight road so it didn't dip below the line from hard cornering. I'm no expert at all so if you guys have a solution or a link to a solution I appreciate it. Thanks.

Coolant sensors in the bottle fail. Common problem. Have to replace the entire bottle though since the sensor is part of the bottle. Cheapest option is from Mazmart.

I had this same issue and it fixed my problem. There is actually a TSB out for it.

TSBs covered problems that could happen to the car, and tell the dealers what to do about it.

TSBs are NOT recalls however, and you will only get a free repair if the car is still under a warranty that covers that failure. In this case, the warranty that applies is the 3yr 36,000 mile bumper to bumper. So if you bring in an RX-8 for this issue that is within that, they will cover the repairs under warranty. If you are not in that warranty period, then they can still do the repairs, but they will charge you for it.
