Check Engine flashes 8 times?? or 7.5?

Does anyone know what this means?? when I put the key in the ignition and put the key in accessory mode, like im going to turn the car on. If I wait a little bit without trying to start the car the check engine light flashes 7 times normal and one time fast. Im counting a total of 8. What does this mean??

I am cannot turn my car on.

Thank you.

I plugged in my scanner and there are no codes.

haha Well I know that is why it is flashing and I do know it will stop eventually. I've heard it's doing a lamp check. And sorry I have not a clue why your engine will not start!

when the PCM detects some fault but not "often" enough to turn the CEL on, it will be stored in the memory and "warn" you that it has detected a fault by flashing the light 7.5 times (lol, it's really 8) before you start your engine.

that does not mean there is something really wrong with it. when you unplug your battery, PCM lost all fuel trim and every other stuff. when u plug it back on, the PCM will be like "where my settings go?" and store some funky code, nothing to worry about.
