Yeah I was wondering that as well...
Why the hell is there a circular notch to anchor the drivers side floormat but nothing to anchor it to?

Check with Trussville or Rosenthal Mazda, either one of them should be able to look this up and get you a part number.

You should have received the hook when you bought your car. Theoretically, it's part of the dealer prep procedure to install it, but mine was in the glove box... took a minute to plug in the plastic clip and install the hook in it's place.

Complain to your dealer that you did not get the hook and more importantly, that they did not do the dealer prep properly when you took delivery of your car. Let them worry about getting the hook for you.

this is the piece. It's about 4 inches long. The post fits through the hole in the mat and the other end has a hole that mades up with a small screw/plug that's on a ridge under the front of the seat. This should be done before you get your car but many of us found the piece in the glovebox or elsewhere.

Mine was in the right place but the installer forgot to press in the screw to expand the fastener. A search under and behind the drivers seat found the fastener. Two minutes later all was well.

So I was supposed to get that, interesting. I'll ask the dealer about that... Hopefully they will believe me that it wasnt in the car since it has been quite a while since I took ownership.

Mine didn't have this piece either though I figuered it was supposed to have one. So I improvized and tucked the front corner of the floor mat under the dead pedal and it holds in position pretty good though it still tends to make it's way over towards the gas pedal. I'm gonna have to get one of these.
