Red face Reforming an 04' to a facelift >2010

Greetings from New Zealand!

I'm sure I'm not the only kiwi floating around on the forums here but what the heck.

Cutting straight down to it, here's an idea of what I'm trying to achieve

http://freshlywhipped.co.nz/?p=325

As I'm sure you guys have a better insight into just how much work this may entail, I leave it to you for comments and advice.

Overall, I'm not really trying to achieve much (body wise) other than the rear end of the car. The bumper, swapping out the tail-lights etc.

Has anyone dabbled with their 1st Gen RX8 and tried to do something similar?

Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers.

I apologize for not really searching as well as I could, however I saw most of them were more aimed towards the front end of the car, rather than the rear.

I ask mainly because I got in touch with my local Mazda dealership and asked about new facelift tail lights for a 04' and he said that there was some bar (I cannot clearly recall exactly what he said, he seemed like it was a little out there for his liking) which was going to make things difficult for me.

Any info on the tail-lights more than anything would be appreciated.
