04Rx8 Airbox breakdown please!!

Helloooooo there I have an 04 RX8 6speed GT Sport. It was in an accident $12500 in damage. Cars almost done after 4 weeks in the shop. I'm finally feeling better to drive miss getting out in the thing. I have one question tho my body guy called me saying a solenoid on the Airbox was damages in the accident. I work at a repair shop I do know about cars. So the only thing I can think of is the VFAD solenoid. Im just trying to see if any one knows of another solenoid on the box he could be talking about. Any responses are appreciheated. Sorry for the useless half of the post lol. Thanks a lot guys -Matt

if its the thing that connects to the back of the airbox, just get rid of it. although there is one nipple on the intake manifold that has to be covered up... i got rid of all the vacuum line that connect to the stock airbox except the 2 main ones that connect alongside the accordion tube. you can also get rid of the Vfad. it wont do any harm whatsoever

They did I bought it back because it has a brand new factor motor in it. Right now the motor has 2,300k on it.

I hate to bust your bubble but It doesn't have a brand new factory motor in it, just a shitty reman.

Best luck I had with a reman is 74k, the rest well you know the track record. Either way I hate that dealers tell people it's a "new" engine when it's not.

You did it wrong buy buying it back... 12500$ of body damage = compromised chassis.
Engines can be replaced, chassis... well it gets harder.

That may be but I only paid 1400 to get it back. That was deducted out of the insurance check. Left me with 9800 walking around money witch got the car fixed by a friend. He factory painted it candy tricolor red bought a front clip aka a complete rx8 cut in half pulled the frame welded and fitted everything. Replaced the power steering rack. All in all it's a brand new car. And I have the paperwork from Mazda saying it is a 100% crate motor from there factory because they had to replace it with one that had lower miles than the one that was in my car. So if it is reman they did a good job covering it up lol. Regardless I'll be happy to have my rx8 back. Just in time for the speedway to open up!

So you ended up spending the amount of money you could have spent on a rx8 with a fresh chassis to run around in something that's nip\tucked? more power to you.

I have 45k on my last reman. We won't talk about the earlier two.
