Car turns over a few times before it starts but the battery if fine..any help??

Car turns over a few times before it starts but the battery if fine..any help??
I have an 04 rx8 with 50,000 on it and it takes a few times to turn over and its almost like its struggling to turn over. tested the battery and its fine, now im just wondering if that would be the starter?
Loose connection at the battery.
(It's always a loose connection at the battery.)
Turn the headlights on, then try and start, lights should dim, but not go out if cables are tight.
Have you disconnected the ground cable for any reason lately?
