Ah , mans best friend. Loyal, friendly, the definition of unconditional love. The RX8- kind of dog friendly, 4 doors, back seats, even a little pop out window for air. But, the hair, slober, smell, dander, wet nose prints. I'm sorry Sammy (that's my retriever mix) but NO WAY you get in the RX. That's what the '05 Vibe's for. Let's hear it dog owners. Cat owners- hey a little ***** in the 8 is always a good thing

My dogs ( basset hounds ) LOVE the back seats. I throw some $10 Walgreen's round beds back there, cover the console with a leather mat and they are happy as can be. The hair isn't really a problem. The interior of my car is all leather. It cleans easy. The windows are not "right" for the dogs to nose print. They dont get in the right places to do it. My dogs are pretty sedate though. I'm sure a lab mix or a larger more active dog could easily destroy the car.

I ended up buying a 2010 VW sportwagon to haul them all around. Up to 5 dogs now.

No way would I let my Alaskan Malamute in my car. She would destroy it. She has so much energy; I don't think I've ever seen her tired.

the 2005 that i bought actually has a hole in the old shifter boot, and a hole in the boot under the top 1 which makes tons of road noise. its very unpleasant. They must have had a dog in there, or... something else.

I let mine ride in the 8, that said, I have 6 lb Pom and 8 lb Pin-Chi. Hair is everywhere from the Pom, even if he didn't ride in the 8, it's on my clothes.

Two dogs and a cat, one of the dogs and the cat are white, and the cat is long haired and sheds like crazy.

So even though none go in the 8, I get fur and hair in the inside a decent bit. Even freshly washed clothes still have it on them though, it's ridiculous.

Ah well.

We have 2 chihuahuas. Just once in a while when we have to bring them with us, my kids hold them and they are behave. We never have them loose inside the car, they might pee or something.
