Good buy?

Hi, I have always wanted a rx7 or 8. I finally got on. I am in the national guard and just returned from a overseas tour. When I got back my job I was working a year ago isn't there anymore so I had to keep money in the bank. I found a clean tittle 2004, 6-speed, dark grey, 117k miles for 2 grand. Thing is as a result of texting and driving the kid who owned it before me hit someone. It needs front fenders, front bumper, 1 headlight, coolant reservoir, and the driver and passenger airbags. I drove it for like 2 mins down the street and back runs/shifts good. The frame is straight but the subframe infront of the radiator is kind of munched but I bent back it into place just doesn't look pretty. Everything else is in good condition. I would just like to get some opinions from some experienced owners on if this was a bad buy or I made out ok? Will upload a pic when I get to my comp. Posting from phone.

I guess it will depend on what your total $$$ investment is once it is made back to pre accident condition.

Substantially less than buying a non wrecked 117k mi 04 equivalent = probably a good buy, anything close to or more than buying a non wrecked 117k mi 04 equivalent = not a good deal.

Keep in mind, this car will always have an accident associated with it, no matter how nice you make it look. This will affect resale, so that also needs to be factored in.

Thank you for your service to our Country, and good luck with the project!

Alright here are a few pics. I got a new hood and coolant reservior. I can't find a headlight cheap so that will have to wait till next paycheck. I changed the oil and started it up after some flooding issues last night, runs great.

Thank you, as soon as I get the the front bumper cover, headlight and passenger fender I can atleast bend it were everything will line up ok. I bought the car to drive it and the frame is straight. Eventually I want to weld on a whole salvaged front piece. I will probably wait for when I build the motor to do that. I have never touched a rotary but I use to work at the speedway in vegas so I have done alot of big project street/strip cars.
