using non-Mazda for fluid changes and inspections

My 30k service is coming up and most of it is inspections and fluid changes. Goodyear, Sears and other garages do it much more cheaply than the dealer and I am wondering if I can do most of it elsewhere and perhaps have the dealer do just the plugs?

I don't see why I should pay $500 -$800 to a dealer. I cannot do it myself due to back surgery and inexperience.

Where are you located? I would imagine some local members would help you out. I would say any decent mechanic could change the plugs and the rest of the stuff. Just make sure they know that the RX8 plugs need to be installed in the leading and trailing positions as marked on the engine and the plugs.

What was said...don't go to the dealership for service, they will steal your hard earned money, just bring it there for warranty issues. Anyway, just have a local mechanic do your service and you'll save a whole bunch of money...i'm done.
