Heater Core

So the other day i notice that theres a smell of coolant coming out of my vents. i checked my coolant level and it was a little under full. however, my carpets we're wet by the passenger side.. So i turned the heater on and notice that the heat was not as strong as normal with the smell of coolant coming out as well. so i'm thinking the heater core has gone bad.. but i would like to do some troubleshooting before i replace it. Do you guys have any ideas where to begin?

Pressurize the cooling system and check for leaks.

Here's an example of what you would need:

I'm sure a little searching will find some cheaper ones.

A mechanic shop or any shop that does automotive A/C work should be able to pressurize it. It would probably be much cheaper than buying your own kit.

Hoping its not your heater core, good luck man!
