Angry Rx8 wont start?

Hey guys i bought an RX8 in May and it treated me really well until about july when i drove cross country from florida to california. and one morning it wouldnt start. so i took the key out. and i put it back in and it started up fine. then every morning after that it did it over and over and it would take longer for me to start the car? and now it wont even start at all. i dont think it could be the battery because i had it checked 3 months ago and it was brand new when i bought it.

Could be a bad connection to the key coil, the little antenna that queries the key chip each time you start. The connector is in the steering column, under the cover, wires are black, black/white, orange/blue and yellow/black.
The other place for a bad connection is the big plugs at the actual ECU, in the black box, front pass side.

As Stealth mentioned, but it could be a lot of things.

First though, what year is your car? How many miles? Any modifications? I noticed you posted in the series 2 forum...

Have you tried the other key? Maybe the battery in the key is no good.

Our keys do not require batteries to transmit a signal to the ECU, the keyless FOB do.

Take in consideration that you just drove your car accross the country, just as RX8Soldier suggested: "it could (also) be a lot of things."

What sound are you hearing? My first guess would be a weakened battery or starter. If you have a 2004 or 2005 I would get an upgraded starter and battery as soon as you can regardless. From your comment that it was progressively taking longer and longer to start and finally wouldn't, makes me think starter slowly died on you.
