I edited the first posting, but I need to add another picture, to show what it looks like with all the lights off, and I am not sure how to do that? Anyone know?

Nice job of cutting, you'll have to show us how you did it, what did you illuminate it with, etc.

The question really is... who is going to look at it.. but good and ORIGINAL NICE

It is at the rear compartment passage to the boot...The one you can pull down for store your ski in the boot or used by the unfriendly rear passager as a rubbish bin

I pulled the RX-8 off the back of the car and traced it out on the center piece. I then cut it with a Dremel and an exacto knife by hand, that part took a while. It is illuminated with a 6" neon tube from advance auto and then wired to the extra outlet in the center.

ahhh u did cut it. no worries bout slipping?... i think it looks good tho! i'd do that instead of lights in the footwells in the back...any pictures of the wiring? are the wires in sight? if it werent for the risk of slipping, id do it too.

What I did was place a clear piece of plastic on the backside and then cut out the middle pieces of the R & 8 and then super glued them on the plastic where they were suppose to be. Had to be really carefull about slipping, I was lucky that I didn't.
