Hello everyone, Im planning to buy a Supercharger kit for my 2010 RX-8 R3. All I need is an ECU solution and Supercharger kit now But I couldnt decide which kit to buy there are few brands Pettit, Blitz and more I need advices about which kit to choose and I need an ECU solution, I tried Haltech Sprint RE but they said that they didnt test it with s2 cars, also COBB Accesport wont fits to a s2 RX-8 F-con and all others anyone knows an ECU that works with s2 RX-8's ? And I also planning to put meth. Injection kit with SC what do you think about that

I talked with microtech a few months ago regarding a tunable ECU and they do work with S2. I believe it was the LT-10 .. i will try to dig up the thread that i posted their response in.

Sorry I lied .. it was Haltech which you already contacted... except my response was a bit different

Hello Paimon,

Thanks for your interest in Haltech Engine Management Systems for your RX8 project. I’m happy to inform you that we do support the Renesis Trigger pattern, and have run several RX8’s in both race and street applications using either our budget oriented Sprint RE ECU, (MSRP $1,042 including Harness ) as well as our mid level Platinum Sport 1000, (MSRP $1,756 including Harness) While we do not produce a Plug in Patch loom or Parallel loom kit for the RX8, you will need to wire in either ECU to your existing wiring harness, but we can provide diagrams and base maps to make this installation much simpler.

Once installed, either Sprint or Sport ECU will offer you FULL control of Fuel Injectors as well as Leading and Trailing spark advance curves in real time tuning via our ECU Manager software package. This software is free to download at this link: http://files.haltech.com/downloads/p..._2_release.zip

In addition to Spark and Fuel control, both ECU’s over configurable outputs (2 on the Sprint, up to 6 on the Sport) as well as PC based datalogging. The Sport ECU also offers internal datalogging, 32x32 maps (vs the Sprints 16x16) dual mapping, as well as additional user configurable inputs and outputs for driving devices such as Fans, Nitrous, Boost control, Water/Meth injection, Launch control, Antilag, and a host of additional features.

More information on the Sprint RE ECU can be found here: http://www.haltech.com.au/index.php/...-sprint-500-re

More information on the Sport ECU can be found here: http://www.haltech.com.au/index.php/...num-sport-1000

If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to ask!

Thanks,
Eric Gash

Microtec is an extremely nice way to poorly tune an engine and trash it soon.
Besides, how do you deal with the Emop, too?

Adaptronic has something that works too, so does DTA.

I think the Haltech is a good option for the SII cars.
As long as you can live with the check engine light, of course.

Hello,

We have not yet tested on a current model RX8. There are no install notes for this series as yet,

If there is anything else we can do to help, please let me know.

haha well now I too am curious ... my response he doesn't seem to mention exactly what motor configuration he is talking about. I dont see why it wouldn't work hardware wise, the question is more about the base maps.

as a side note, if you do decide to go with the haltech, please document the entire process . Lots of us S2 guys are too scared to take the first dive ourselves.

Well you won't be getting a Pettit kit since the compressor they use isn't made anymore... Cam said he might sell a kit without the compressor so you'd have to find that yourself. As for the ECU I think an interceptor-x would work with a custom tune (based on what Dave @ Speed1 has told me). Also if you wanna be baller you could get a MoTeC but that'd be a tough job unless you have an expert tuner.

Anyway if you do pick up a s/c kit keep us in the loop, very interested in doing something similar =)

The interceptor x is completely useless.

Motec isn't hard at all.

I would second staying far away from the interceptor X( microtech). Car will not run well at all..

M600 harnesses would be very very very nice. My monkey skills suck when it comes to complex tasks of splicing and making harnesses...

Once you know what you are doing, I would agree.

If you have ceramic seals as part of the rebuild then you have to buy new housings.
