It looks like you have a good feel for the car and some ***** (which is a good start). But you have some bad habits (0.58 your right hand goes to the handbrake for some reason) and you tend to lose time on exits from corners with pointless slides (0.56 case in point, repeated at 1.24) and erratic throttle application (the two are tied).
When you get instruction make sure it is from a people who know what they are talking about: allot of instructors (from BMW, Porsche and other clubs) become instructors by going to the track for a long time but that does not mean they have any clue on what they are talking about. They are obsessed with "the line" and still propagate the slow in fast out.
Best way to learn to to try to observe the top people in the field (usually pros) and speak find people in your region that understand driving.
AND never go on track without clearing your car (this is why most clubs tech) - your glove box is full of ****, that thing car easily open when you take too much curb, you may have a car beside you at that point and will be paying attention to **** flying around rather than driving = dangerous.

I just think you could use some refining, and more practice, ultimately. But then again, so could I.
Nice job though, good job on placing higher up there, and nice vid.

Thank you everyone for watching and giving some advises
that was really important for me, This was my first track experience. There was some dust on the track which gave everyone some hard times. I know Im weak on downshiftin I will be working on that and those slides caused from shift lock cost me a 1 sec. Hope I will get better soon. Those comments was really important for me so again thank you all

If you finish your braking before you turn in then it won't kick out when you let off the brakes and try to get on the gas. Lots of 4 wheel plowing into corners. It feels faster but it's a lot slower.
Ask for good drivers to ride along with you and give you tips and you'll get a LOT faster.
Nice video, thanks for sharing.

Think of your track experiences and your improvements over time as a never- ending journey and simply enjoy the ride and the thrills and stay humble
Anytime you squeeze the brakes past turn in, you are trail braking (even if it is a 10cm beyond turn in).
Generally the faster the turn the less trail braking you should use. I also like to utilzie the abs when it makes sense to do so. The slower the turn the more trail braking you should use.
You should think about the pedals as a tool to set up your car for whatever is coming up. Coming on the brakes firmly but smoothly and getting off them without upsetting the balance of the car will lead to faster track times.
There is not a single driver (like Jackie Stewart used to claim) that does not trail brake. How much depends on driving style, track, car set, brake distribution etc. There are people on here allot more knowledgeable than me to explain this.
TO: Ogulcan
For your first time on the track you did great.
If you got the cash get some one on one coaching from a pro in your area. You can split the day with another driver and it is not as expensive as some think. This will prevent you from internalizing bad habits and give you a good start.
Doing endless track days without a good foundation will set you back.
Don't want to start a discussion on trail braking but if the above statement is your overall approach to track driving than it is utter rubbish.

Get a good foundation then worry about trail braking later is what I've always been told.
You can search here and plenty of other sites and you'll find a lot of advice on how to drive. There are also many good books written, some are on the web in parts. For example http://www.trackpedia.com/mediawiki/...vingManual.pdf I read my favorites over and over and still can reflect on my latest driving experience and learn something new.

I will keep reading, researching and get prepared for the next trackday. As I said I have to work on down shifting and I took your advise and changed the video haha
TO Chris_Bangle: Im already looking for a racing school I attended some safe driving and drifting schools and now planning to attend race driving school
thank you very much for giving time and helpingTO paimon.soror I will open a thread this week wait till I edit my gopro videos

And Thanks everyone for those good comments. Track was very funny and I had an amazing day and understood that RX-8 is a way different car in track
looks like fun
good to know more people going to tracks now
you already faster than a lot of noob drivers that never wanna goes on track, only run stupid canyons
no offence bro, just some tips, if u drive smoother, (meaning of rev match, heel&toe, steering input, the brakes, gas...etc )
not overspeed into corners and getting oversteering
you exit speed can be even faster,
trial braking is good, but depends on corners too, some turns u just gotta slow in, then fast out, just like the final exit corner
*too much sudden movements will upset the car
have fun buddy, going to track is the right way to learn !!
u can check out some of my videos too, we can share the experience

Dude--you are a VERY aggressive driver. Your car will not last long driving it that way i'm afraid.
You have some natural talent and i can tell you are in touch with youre car's chassis. I like how you kept the engine's revs up.
you got very lucky going into the little esses, but you had some real skill recovering from that mistake. I like the way you used the throttle to recover/control--very good reflexs.
The shifting you are doing is sweet. more people should do it that way--IF their trans can take it. you have drifted before havent you?.
Its going to be hard for you to learn that smoother is faster and God help you if ever drive a higher HP car like that!

You are completely right. Track is very different things are happening very fast and there is so little time to recover. But its really fun. I will work on my cornering and heel and toe teching. But its pretty hard and needs time and exprience I think. I will ask some pro. drivers I know to show me how. As you said Oversteer feels fun and fast but in fact it is way slower. Next time I will try to be smoother and slower while entering the corners
I will be looking for a coilover next month. And I also watched your videos, you seem very calm, smooth and exprienced. They are great

I wait till it engine warms up, I change oil and oil filter at every 3000 miles etc. But at the track I was agressive as you said. And yes I took some drifting courses and attended some drifting event and they changed my driving habbits a little. Thats why my hand goes to handbrake few times
I let myself to be agressive cause RX-8 is a very well balanced and tolerating car. Even at to limit it tolarates so much and works with its driver. Other RWD cars like M3 are not that kind and wont tolarate that much agression and who treat them like that, they will probably end of spinning or hitting the walls
BTW thank you for your comment I will be taking a race driving course soon. Those comments are really important for me

It's good that you are going to get some training however, KEEP THAT KIND OF DRIVING ON THE TRACK! Street racing and drifting on public roads is VERY dangerous... not only for you but, for everyone else on the road as well. You have what, one track video and the rest is street racing? Even dumber still is capturing video of your plates while doing so.
I am not saying that you shouldn't enjoy driving your car. I am just advising that you do so responsibly... for everyone's sake.
