I have an 04 MT Rx8 in Limp Mode and the only thing I haven't replaced is the catalytic converter. Anyone in nearby willing to help me pull the cat and at least inspect it for debris? After trying to replace some of the other parts, I've found having a spare pair of experienced hands helping takes the job from 2-3 days to 2-3 hours usually.

I'm not sure the going rate for this type thing, either, but I can easily barter some computer work if anyone's interested.

Also, what makes you think it's the cat making you go into limp? What have you done to diagnose?

 

Replaced the ignition coils, spark plugs, plug wires and air filter. The CEL pulls a P0037, rear O2 sensor. Based on the information I found here, its probably a clogged cat.
