DIY: Take UV Damage Off of Your CF

To start off. this is my first DIY so dont kill me

A few days ago I bought a carbon fiber hood and spoiler from a member of this forum. I got them 2 days ago and installed them the same day.

Everything was good except for a little bit of UV damage on the hood and the center of the spoiler. I was looking for ways to fix this and I came across a meguiars product that did the trick: Meguiars Scratch X.

It is usually used to take off the scratches usually left behind from a rotary buffer or other small scratches. It basically smooths the clear coat out. I figured that this would work on the UV damage also, and it did great.

All you need is:
-Scratch X
-2 Microfiber towels/pads
-Time

Its really simple.
First, just find any UV damage or maybe even small scratches in your CF item.

Second, run the Scratch X on your CF with your finger, just spread it around evenly.

Third, take the microfiber and work the Scratch X around the damage. Put some force but still be gentle with it. (It doesnt matter how you work it. This is non-abrasive and will not leave scratches is worked in different directions.)

After the damage is gone take the second rag or pad and wipe the area clean.

That's it, you're done. I washed before, and waxed after. I got some really good results. Hope this works for everyone and thanks for checking this out.
