Gas mileage AFTER intake install

Has anyone noticed an increase, decrease or no change with their gas mileage after installing an intake?

Yeah, I know this topic of gas mileage as been beat to death but I’m just wondering about any change specifically related to an intake installation.

Thanks.

Mine dropped 1mpg after installed intake, and then go back up after installed exhaust. Wierd, rite.

Could it be down because you are always on the gas to hear the intake? That would be my problem :D

I haven't noticed a change until about 6000miles and 3 oil changes. I got 20mpg on the freeway back from Cali, though around town I have yet to see an increase.

Damn. That is what I was afraid of... a reduction in MPG.

I'm getting such horrible mileage - probably around 13-14. It'll just suck if it gets any lower.

Oh well.

dookie, the way i figure out my MPG is that i first fill the gas tank up to the top and then i zero out my trip computer, then once i get to almost empty i then fill it back up again and find out from the recipt how much gas i put in gallons, take the number off the trip computer and divide it by the number of gallons including 2 decimal points. example:
200 miles on trip computer
10.00 gallons filled on gas recipt.
= 20 MPG

It is the MOST accurate way of doing it, since you know exactly how many gallons where consumed., thus that is the number of gallons it will take to fill it back up to the top.

I have not noticed any change up or down with my Rotary Extreme short ram intake.

I installed K&N Typhoon, and know matter hard I try I get 19.0 to 20.0 MPG, in highway and city driving with warm Florida weather.

LOL! I agree Mike.

I'd be thrilled with 18, let alone 19 or 20 mpg.
