Oregon Raceway Park with ProFormance Sept. 22-23

WOOHOO!!! I'm all signed up with ProFormance to drive ORP on Thursday the 22nd. I am so excited to drive this track, it looks like a lot of fun.

You will already need to have HPD experience to participate, but their website is http://www.proformanceracingschool.com/ if you are interested.

The day runs $295 and if you haven't driven there or with ProFormance you will need to hire a coach. The coaching fee is $100 per 1/2 hour (if you've never driven with them you might have to hire a coach for two sessions, which I have done because this will be my first time at the track.)

Cool! I am so excited! The first time I saw a video of the half pipe, I thought, I HAVE to drive there

One more week to go.

fyi...I usually fill up for gas at the Shell in Biggs Junction (hwy 84 & 97). You'll probably have to get gas at the track as well. Hopefully you'll get to walk the track, so you can see just how banked the halfpipe is Have fun!

Thanks for the gas info, I was worried about where to get it off site.

How much is the gas at the track?

I had a blast. What a crazy track. It is a bit scary until you learn it. It was freaky starting the braking zones without being able to see the entrance cones The half pipe was awesome!!! I'll post some videos later.

Sounds like a good time. Did that used to be called Delta Park?

PIR is at Delta Park.

I'll be at ORP again Sunday, working for more track credit!

Well here's a clip of my best driving. It's not my fastest lap, I got a 2:11, but it was an ugly lap

Definately worth getting out there!!! Oh, and I stayed at the Tall Winds at Moro (about 10 minutes from the track), $60 bucks for the night. Make reservations early because they will book up on a track day night.

I'm running the Trackmaster app on my phone by Trackaroo and I bought a bluetooth QStarz 818XT GPS receiver that runs at 5Hz instead of the phone's 1Hz GPS to get better data. The Qstarz will run at 10Hz but I think it's too much for my phone. On the phone screen I'm running the Torque app. That's a bluetooth OBDII app and I've got OBDII speed and RPMs on the screen. For some reason the RPMs are about 300 slower on the screen than what my dial says. Also the GPS speed is slower than what my car says too. At 60 MPH it's about 1 off, but at 126 MPH it's about 3 off.

What kind of camera did you get? How do you get the GPS data out of the camera? My phone puts the info into a .csv file, which I then put into the Dashware software which are my gauge displays.

Wow that's kind of a cool camera and it's GPS runs at 4HZ, nice! I don't know how much video you'll get at full res with only 2 GBs though. On my camera at full 1080, 32 GBs gets me right about 2.5 hours. Yours might get more minutes per gig though. I read your camera can take up to 32 GB sd cards.
