Question Forum User name and ID messed up

My username for the forum is not cvan707 but texlaw. I don't know what happened but a couple of weeks ago my ID was changed to cvan707. I did not change it and I can't get the webmaster to respond to any of my e-mails to find out how to fix the problem. Any suggestions on how to get this untangled? Has this happened to anyone else on the site?

Help!

Try closing your browser and re-opening it. If that doesn't work, go to preferences and delete your cookies. This is a known problem. You can probably find threads on it by doing a search.

Thanks

I erased all my cookies and temp files and relogged in and it appears to have worked. Thanks for the info. How does that happen that suddenly you have the wrong ID and username?

Another little glitch-- I'm just lurking, I have no account on this forum and I can post as mskern77 (sorry mskern77). A couple of weeks ago it would let me post as PoManFerrari.

you are using other peoples' names who used the computers before you. people tend to click yes on the pop-ups for web browsers that ask to remember passwords.

Not so. I (the inadvertant hijacker of mskern77-- sorry again) am on my computer at work (only ever used by me, or, to fix problems, the office computer folks)-- not a public computer. The ID and sign on problem is probably with the forum servers.
