UK MSN article in UK

Most expensive cars to repair
7. Mazda RX-8 (2003 - )

Average repair cost: £608.82
Even 9 years on the RX-8 remains a cracking coupe to drive, largely thanks to the impressive 228bhp from its 1.3-litre Rotary engine. Surprisingly the complicated rotary engine is responsible for only 11% of all RX-8 repair claims. Instead the car's electrical system is a much bigger culprit, making up over half of repair claims.

There go the residual values in the UK market then

The positive is only 11% are "engine" problems and I'm betting the high cost of the mainly electrical is coming from the coils and the Bose door speakers !!

TYPICAL rubbish from MSN/UK journalist though "complicated rotary engine" ... wtf !!!

It's "complicated" because he's a fool and doesn't know how one works lol... it's actually one of the simplest engines going... muppet.

Residual values though man, it's because of high tax post 2006 and also the MPG which quite frankly is appalling... still, what a CAR! rofl

The door speaker problem isn't with the speakers, but with a relay in the door-mounted amps. While the rotary is fundamentally simple, there are many supporting systems that just don't exist on other cars. Try mentioning the APV, SSV, or VFAD to your local garage mechanic and the result will be a blank stare. Coils and plugs, especially if bought and installed through a dealer, are indeed a major expense.

I would like to, but I'm having trouble understanding your problem. I suggest you go to this forum: The Rotary Heaven . It is a European rotary forum that may have some of your countrymen that can help. The main page is in English, but there are forums there for other languages. I'm guessing yours is Greek.
