I just purchased a '04 rx8 automatic, and two days after on my way home it started to idle low and shake, eventually stalling. I live in Las Vegas and it was a really hot day. I have read that this engine does not do well in hot weather, and that I should use a heavier weight oil. I am mechanically inclined, however I know nothing about cars and I could really use your help. I love this car, although I really wanted the manual trans, but had to settle due to price. Any tips and tricks are greatly appreciated on how to keep this beauty running well, BTW it has 63k miles.

Sounds like a tune-up is in order.

 

Replace it with new plugs, wires, and coils. It should help with the problem, good luck and post pics of your ride. Anyway, what color did you get and what part of Vegas your from? I live in the north side of town.
