Let my Mom take the 8 to work today
So long story, I'll try and keep it short. Her 7 series was rear ended last week so it's in the shop getting fixed, and my parents don't drive their corvette in the rain and it's supposed to rain today, and they're having the air-conditioner fixed in their cadillac, so they ran out of cars to use, so I let my mom use my 8 today to get to work and I drove my truck.
You're probably thinking why not let her take your truck? Cause it's too big for her to get into with the lift.
Hopefully the 8 comes back in one piece. I went over the whole 'don't shut it off cold, don't rev above 4k rpm's till the engine is warmed up, yada-yada, etc., etc.'
Have any of you had to let someone use your 8?

ha you sound like a mother leaving her child with the baby-sitter for the first time lol
I've let people drive my car. With my line of work, I'm not always around to take care of her. Not my sister! Nope. That won't happen lol. But, anyone of my friends, I'd trust with my car. If I didn't, we wouldn't be friends

I hope that doesn't mean you learned the hard way.
Half my friends don't even know how to drive a manual car, sad, but true.
I had to...and let me just say never ever again. I have a 2004 AT (wish it were MT but whatever) and i had to let my mom use it while i fixed her car that day (its a ford, explains the need for fixing).
long story short, she drove to and from work (thankfully only 5 miles each way) with it in MANUAL MODE and she wasnt shifting because she didnt know it was in manual mode and didnt know how to shift it either. she was completely oblivious the whole time.
So even though my mom pulled the cash needed out of her savings to buy my car (yeah buy we have its title), she will not be driving my car again. Ever. I knew it was a bad idea from the start when i asked her how to check the oil on her car to see how much my car would be on the line with her driving, and she responded "i have no idea. i just drive it and put gas when the little light comes on"
....never, ever, again...

My ex wife never drove my car. My son moved it into the street once so he could get his car out. The only other person, in 7 yrs, was the service manager at the dealership. He took it for the weekend to try to diagnose a problem.

My mother would periodically drive my car as the "fun car" until I put my exhaust on. Now she calls it, and I quote, a "stupid piece of **** rust bucket"
Which is good because she would wear high heels and grind the gears ALL THE TIME.
p.s. I have no rust

My girlfriend has my 8 right now. I tore a tendon in my foot and can't use it to drive so I can only use an automatic. At the moment I driver her Jeep and she has my 8.
I taught her to drive stick 2 weekends ago and then let her autocross it last weekend. After I saw how she handled the car on course I have no worries about her driving it around town.
