Fog Light rewire advice

After some advice please.
Just had a Mazdaspeed kit fitted to the car. Only problem I have is that here in the UK we have to have a fog lamp fitted. Now I have lost the rear fog light with the addition of the kit, but the dealership have made my high level brake light my rear fog lamp.
My question is, could I not get it rewired so that it operates as a brake light normally, but when I turn on the rear fog lamp it will just stay illuminated?
Thought that I could just connect the positives together? When one is live it will illuminate, be it till I release the brake or turn off the fog lamp?
As you can tell I have no idea about electronic but I am hoping that it will be something fairly simple to do, the dealer says it cannot be done because the fuse cannot cope with the current??

HELP!!

I would think a relay would do the trick.

Yes, you could wire it that way. But why not just use your previously fitted rear fog light, and have it custom installed into the rear bumper? Any decent body shop should be able to do it, and you've already got all the wiring in place for it.

Not sure that a custom fit would look right on the back of the kit? Plus I believe it would end up being quite a big job.

I agree. Do you know how the relay would work? Since you already have the wiring for both lights in the rear, splicing in the relay should not be a big job.

tell us your setup, where is the switch for the rear fog light? and can you find the wire going to it near the trunk?

Also look here for more info
