Noise from left front wheel?

When i drive my 8 out of my house...i notice some noise from my left front wheel.
And it sounds like some metal dropped on the ground and it drags by my car when its moving. Then i stop my 8 and i look under the car...thats nothing loose and theyr all in good shape.....
then i start to drive again.....and i notice that the sound is sure for the left front wheel!!!! and the pattern of the sound is just like the wheel rolling. Fist i was thinging of some rocks and **** but i was freaked out since the sound is much louder as i push the gas harder!!!
And finally the sound is gone when i hit 6k rmp and its gone!!!
afterward i just drive home immediately and start this post lol

Can someone help? my heart is broken when this happen to my 8 =[

Well I would suspect the wheel bearing, but I don't think that sound would disappear at a certain rev level... It makes this sound all the time, not just when you hit a bump?

When I had a wheel bearing going bad on my last car the sound was not always there, but it was the metal grinding sound your refering to. If it is the wheel bearing then it will get louder eventually, so you may want to get that checked.

To check your wheel bearing just jack the car up so the wheel you want to check spins freely and is off the ground. Then grab hold of the top and bottom of it and push it and pull it towards you, if you notice movement then thats a bad wheel bearing.

Or follow this video here.

+1 on the wheel bearings. Not sure how much will it cost to replace it, sorry. But, if you want to fix it yourself, then check the DIY sections on this site. Good luck.

If you plan on replacing it yourself and it is indeed the wheel bearing then don't take to much time to do it. If you wait and keep driving you can end up replacing more than just the bearing.

Well on my last car when it was going out it steadily went bad and eventually there was this horrible grinding noise it sounded like the wheel was going to pop off. At the time I was on a 700+ mile trip so I had to stop and get it done. The guy replaced my wheel bearing on that side and said it was close to ruining the hub, he actually had to do a little grinding work to the hub to get it back into shape so I wouldn't have to buy a new one. He was saying that if your bearings fail like mine did it is possible to cause a fire because metal on metal spinning like that can cause some pretty good heat.
