Stock Back And Front bumpers Being Painted To Match 05 Velocity Red

I own a 2005 velocity red rx8, and was wondering what comments fellow rx8 owners and enthusiasts had on painting the back stock bumper and black lower front bumper velocity red to match the car. Would love to hear anyones comments and feedback. The yellow is were i plan to paint velocity red, and on the back bumper i plan to get an aluminum honeycomb add on to go with it.

Much appreciated,

Craig21

Besides the amount of work i would imagine it taking to get the finish the same, it might not look bad. I still like the stock color/black contrast, but haven't seen this done on a VR before. Try photoshopping those pics to see what the result might look like!

I havent got to see it done on a VR either yet, but i would like to. If it looks nice id LOVE to do mine.
It looks Hella Clean on the white 8s. I say try it! I think it would look good, just alot of work to get it right.

I think it will look good. There is one member here in Vegas that did it on his blue rx8. He painted the rear only and it looks okay, not too bad at all. Anyway, i know you want other peoples opinions first before you decide on what to do next. For my personal opinion, go for it, and take pictures when you decide to paint it red. Whichever or whatever you decide, good luck.

I think you should go with the OE VR air dam which will probably cost about the same as getting a shop to paint the front and look better. The rear is a toss up. I have seen some car look good and other not. FWIW my car is BB and the rear is painted 1 color. It turned out good but there are times I wish I would have left it the way it was.

Thanks guys for the feedback, i think i would go with the OE VR front air dam, as for the back im just concerned with getting the color to match right with the paint i have now.

I would not only think of matching the color, but like I said earlier, the finish as well. The surface of the rear lip is much different than that of the rest of the car. Good luck though!

craig, do your own sanding on the rear.

buy the front air dam from ebay for cheap. 199 bucks!! ill even look it up for you.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/04-05...#ht_846wt_1001

sand your rear for about 5 hours to get it ready to accept paint. then you should be okay.
