greetings!
my user name says it all! i was just wondering, have any of you here raced a 350Z before? lost/win? just wondering... i dont see that many RX-8's around where i live but i do see alot of 350Z's and im one of them. so no i havent raced an RX-8 yet!

Well....as far as racing goes....street racing isn't condoned by the forum as a whole. I however under 'controlled' conditions have done a few fun runs vs. my best friends 350z (brickyard). I haven't tried hard launches as I'd rather not destroy my tranny in the long run. My observations are that the Z pulls off the line faster and then gets about 60' in front of me...and that's where it stays for the rest of the time. Course these are hardly scientific conditions but rather average drivers seeing what the cars can do.

I'm a big fan of your car actually. Almost bought a silverstone myself. Kids and insurance were the kicker though. insurance was like 125 more a month for the Z, and I can fit my kids in the back. I'm fortunate however as my friend and I have traded cars on more than a few occassions so I get to play with the z and he gets to enjoy my 8. Beats paying for both cars! They are both fast in my opinion but not compared to the previous and other vehicles Ive owned and have. I do love all the torque in the Z...makes quite a difference in feel. Just my thoughts...

What is it with you Z owners?
Here in Australia, almost every Zed wants to run me on the street.
Of course I'm not interested since I value my driver's license and the general public's welfare.
On paper and in motoring publications, the Zed is a faster car, what is there left to prove?
The 8 was awarded Wheels Car Of The Year in Oz and some Zed owners have been feeling jealous....perhaps that's why they want to race (at least in Australia anyway)
