I think the dealer screwed up my heater!

I have recently had a ton of problems out of my RX8. I have an extended warranty and just got it back from the dealer today. They replaced my Heater Control Unit. For some reason my fan **** seems to wiggle kinda easily. Is this normal that it has some play or did he mess up the shaft going into the ****?

mine is pretty tight.

there is a chance that they screwed up, but if it does not affect the functionality of the control, they will ignore you.

Pull it straight off, it's just friction fit, and look on the back of the **** to see if the plastic is cracked. Mine is.

I pulled it off no cracks. It adjusts the speed just fine but I can move it from side to side and up and down. I never really payed attention before I took it in but for some reason this time I noticed it.

There is a clear plastic piece behind the **** on the controller on my 2004, is it firmly in place?

Yes it is firmly in place the little white shank seems to move very easy though. It looks like the plastic piece has a slight angle to it

Just had mine off yesterday to re solder the temp control circuit board. Don't think the white shank should wiggle around, mine did not have any play in it. Something must be loose or broken.
