Question should i get the beater?

A buddy of mine is sellen an 89 Dodge Daytona Shelby Z Turbo 5 speed RWD for 1500 bucks. It's in great condition and has only 53,xxx miles. Should it get? It would be the sort of car to offset the RX-8, but i don't know if it offsets it enough. Maybe a Kia Rio is better haha.

the computer chips are probably worn out. 80's American cars were not very reliable.

That's a fairly rare car and may be fun to have around, maybe make it a project car someday. I say go for it.

I'd say go for it. A guy in my town had an early 90's Dayton R/T IROC that was very rare for sale. They made less than 500 of them. The car had 220hp stock. But his had around 280hp plus OZ wheels, Eibach springs, and a triple plate clutch (for the street!). I wanted that car bad, but it was outta my price range at the time.
