Here's another pic of the same 8 from the autobacs thread. I personally like it better with the bronze Volks:

the reality is you can make just as much power, more low end torque, less front end weight, and less cost doing a 13B turbo especially if you use the Racing Beat aluminum endplates

there is an article in this months SCCA SportsCar magazine showing the engine above in Jeff Kiesel's E-Mod class rotary Sprite autox car as built and sponsored by Racing Beat, he used it to replace a 20B setup and is now a lot faster for all of those reasons

That is simply redonkulous! I wonder if I sell my house if I could make a little bed down area behind those front seats. If so I'm in!

That would cost about 2 Rx-8's price.

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm mmm

and the performance should be better than a car that's twice the RX-8's price.

very temping ...

Look at the carbon fiber and aluminum pedals on the pics from the website. Drool...

That 20b is SO far back in the engine bay!! In spite of being larger than a 13b, its much further back. That's just beautiful....

It's true what Team was saying about a turbo 13b vs a N/A 20b....but i dunno. If I were to build a dream rx8, it would be pretty damn close to this one, and definitely be 20b for the theatrics of that sound alone, which sadly just wouldn't be present in a turbo'd car. The sound of the Speedsource 20b's is enough to justify it, to me at least, if you're really goin for broke. For me, that scream stirs the soul unlike any other....

cant believe yall are drooling over this engine bay? Look at it a little more closely?
Obvious it is a Time Attack car OR just a show car.
It would be hell to drive on the street? It appears there is no power brakes, no power steering and no a/c and no heater. Look at the big air tube to feed the passenger comparment? I do bet it gets hot in there.
Only way they could put that engine so far back is cutting into the firewall a little?
Not that is an excellant job---it is. But it looks like it is a purpose built car that will not see the street or very little of it.
I havent read the article.
