I haven't done this yet but, I saw it on the TV show Rides. The were interviewing some famous car detailer. He said the best thing to use is motor oil. After a few coats (about 5 I think) the oil gets soaked into the tires and after that point all you have to do is buff them for that nice shine.

I dont like the spray type or foam type tire shiners. I dont like it when it spills on the rims.

Anyone know of something that you can use on tires with an applicator for a neat and tidy application?

Most people don't spray directly on to the tyres. Try spraying it on a applicator (sponge) then run it round the tyres.

Mequires Tire Shine is the best it lasts for a good 2 weeks and gives tires that deep wet shine.

I its light corn syrup in consistence I apply it with a foam applicator pad I bought from pakshack.

Eagle One has those foam applicators that are contoured to the shape of the side wall...got mine at wallmart.

the stuff i use for the tires is 303 protectant. it has so UV protection too and no plasticizers. better for the tires. also it is good for the dash and the leather as well. i like it better than armor all and the like because it is not too shiny or greasy.
