6 Port Engine / 6 Speed Trans runs good, shifts very smooth. I bought the car with intentions of doing a LSx swap, so the day I have a buyer for this will be the day the swap starts. Anyway I will take you for a ride in it if needed or can ship. Just under 90k on the clock. Car seems to have been maintained very well. $1500 for engine/trans.

Maybe offer to split the engine and trans.

That's just over 12k a year. Car came from South Carolina and was his daily driver.

I take it compression is an issue with these cars then? I will try and get one at some point, more if someone is interested, going to drive it in the mean time as it is a fun little setup.

I will split it up for the right price, just trying to get enough for a T56 out of the deal.

thing is that if this is an original engine ... it has suffered from insufficient OMP rates for an unknown period of time. 04 rx8's ran a poor engine map that was updated more than once in the ensuing years.

When you say some lady owned it, it is somewhat less than likely that she took it to a dealer to get the map refllashed.

HOWEVER

This may also be a replacement which would make the miles on the motor MUCH less than what is on the odometer. It also makes it MUCH more likely that it is running on the updated maps.

If I were you, I would take it to the dealer and try to find out if the engine was rebuilt and If and when the updated were done.

this will ensure you get top dollar


Seeing as it has 90k (from an 04), I am leaning towards the motor NOT being original. I could be wrong tho

take it to the dealer or talk to RotaryRessurection ... there are other ways to tell if the engine is not original, but you'll need to talk to dealer to see if you are running updated maps....

all things taken into account ... your pricing is not Outrageous ... you will just have to wait a couple months most likely

 

Well toss me offers guys, I picked up a LS1 /w T56 that I want to swap in... It will come out the night someone sends me money for the swap or engine or trans.

It has a faded sticker under the hood for some Mazda recall or something I forget what it said.

If anyone wants to take it for a ride they are more then welcome too, car drives great... I can provide a VIN if you want to run it with Mazda.
