PIAA owns Bosch and all others.

When I bought the car it had Bosch Icon wipers on it. They were garbage, didn't do the job, and were not smooth at speed. So I replaced them with a set of PIAA Silicon. Well with time they wore out as all of them do. So I stupidly decide to try Bosch again and again they suck. At speed they don't do the job properly, also in our Texas storms with high winds above 80mph they flutter a little. So I take them back get my refund and return to my faithful PIAA Hybrid blades. There is a huge difference once again. They flow smoothly, even over 100mph no chatter and no problems at all. We had some really waves of storms a couple days ago. I had to drive about 100 miles back to Dallas from a small town down south. The difference was insane. The spoilers built into the PIAA blades along with the multi spring design owned the Bosch.

Bosch is straight garbage. I don't know why people swear by them, if your at any kind of good speed (80+) in serious weather I never could get them to flow smoothly or not get caught by the wind every once in a while. I am loving having the PIAAs back again. I don't know why I keep giving Bosch a chance they just don't hold up in serious driving.

Charles Hill put me onto a set of PIAA wiperblades about a year ago and I was pretty taken back by the fact that they were $40 a set. Charles picked up a few sets for the team and I honestly think I'll be buying a replacement set again this year. You'd think $40 is a lot to spend for wiper blades but they are honestly very good.

They have managed to last quite a while despite the harsh AZ climate which normally kills blades before any wear does.

Thanks for the review !! Im in need of new wiper blades bad. I was either going with Bosch Icon (which ALOT of people say it good, i mean alot) or PIAA (nothing but good stuff is said about these). The Choice is clear for me now thanks

They have a pretty sleek looking design too assuming that these are the ones you are talking about

Have you guys ever tried Rain-X wipers? They're pretty legit too.

I just recently switched from Piaa wipers to the Bosch. Love the ICONs. I live in the PACNW and know something about living and driving in the rain.

Does not rain too much here in Vegas. I still have the original wiper blades. If i'm going to replace it, it will be the Rain-X wiper blades, it will last longer than my car will last.

Brandon its when you mix the storms with the crap blades. The storm I drove through the other day was 20mph winds gusting to 35mph plus the fact I was already traveling at speeds between 80 and 100+

Take your car to Texas Motor Speedway this May for the open SCCA event and try your wipers out at 120mph or so. The Bosch Icon will flutter.

Yes those are them Paimon. Go to amazon and they are around 30 dollars each plus free shipping. You don't have to replace the spoiler only the blades. They make different variants of the spoiler on them though.

Monchie you should get some silicon gel, and coat your blades in them. Thats what we did in 29 Palms where it rains very rarely. It will keep the rubber from rotting away.

Doc, I gotta call you a NOOB this time, cuz you are 5 years late

have been using PIAA hahaha, yes they're butter smooth, especially if you "prepare" your windshield with their wipes before you run your PIAA wiper.

only my 8 uses PIAA tho, all my other cars use Rain-X right now. cuz its easy and cheap to get them. performance is so so.

yes, Bosch is garbage ... it turns rock hard (sounds gay ...) when its too cold. all weather blade my ***.

oh I had Valuecraft (Autozone garbage line) one time for my FC. wow that **** is so garbage, I use it NO MORE THAN 5 times and the crap fell out of its mount.I was like WOW. I guess you get what you paid for ?(like 4 or 5 bux)

My real question is why did you have to go 100mph in 35mph gusting rain storms...

Yeah man I don't get that either? If I need to use my wiper blades I don't think I will be going 120mph?? and if you are, then please don't be anywhere near me.

^ Thanks. We trained a whole month at Fort Irwin, Ca. by Barstow. I heard that U.S. Marine Tankers trains over there.

Everyone trains at Irwin at least once in thier time at 29 Palms. Its the best way to get ready for Iraq weather, and Iraq allergies before you go. It allows for less time in Kuwait and more time in combat. At least in the past, I hear things are a bit different now.

NYC I had been using PIAA on my other vehicles all along, but was misguided enough to try Bosch once again. Only to have them fail under pressure lol. Rain-X remind me to much of Bosch to try anytime soon.

As for the performance driving, the October meet was held in a rain, on wet unmaintained roads and yet I didn't see a lot of people backing out. I had to get back to Dallas, and quickly. I know my limitations, and they don't include a little rain on a road I have driven hundreds of times. Everyone here has driven at one point or another under either circumstances you shouldn't have, or in ways that were a bit dangerous so the questioning is unwarranted. I had good cause to be back in a short amount of time thats all that is needed to be known.

Ah yes found it on NOAA, October 24th 2010 Metar Report:

Mean Temp 68deg
Precipitation 1.5 Inches
Wind 27 Knots - 32mph

It's not unwarranted to ask why you needed to drive 100mph in the rain. It's dangerous no matter what public road you're on. If it's raining hard and I'm running late for something..I'm late.

Lol kinda like the new CTS-V commercials ... "driving at 135mph will lift your wiper blades off the windshield, so did we make the car slower, or fix the wipers" ..

SOLD

^^^ Hahaha for that matter I'm gonna have to cough twice as well and agree with you, I think it has more to do with the direction you are traveling and the direction the wind is hitting your car combined with your speed.

the problem with framless blades like the Bosch Icon is that they dont have the rigidity of the framed blades, but they do provide even pressure unlike the framed ones.
so if you are talking about how the frameless blades shake about is pretty normal if youre used to framed blades.
Ive been using Icon's for awhile and like them alot. a good advice is to clean and treat the windshield for best performance.
